• New features:

Mezzo 3.8.1 adds support for the new Pro Tools Session 5.1 file format. [Note that although Mezzo 3.8.x is compatible with Macintosh operating systems as low as v.7.5.1, a computer running OS8.6 or higher is required in order to support scanning and tracking of Pro Tools 5.1 Session files.]

• New archiving devices supported:

Ecrix VXA-1, a drive that uses standard 8mm data grade tapes and offers a great combination of price & performance [Note: firmware rev. 2848 or higher is required on this device for compatibility with Mezzo. Additionally, Mezzo 3.8 will support this device only when attached to the Macintosh through a SCSI port. A future release of Mezzo will add support for the FireWire model of the VXA.]

Sony AIT 400 & 400c, a new model AIT drive that provides compatibility with the 300/300c at a lower price.

Tandberg DLT 4000/7000/8000 devices are compatible with similar DLT drives sold by Quantum. [Note that Mezzo does not yet support the new DLT1 drive from Tandberg.]

• Changes in 3.8.1:

Mezzo 3.8.1 is a maintanance update for users of Mezzo 3.8. The following problems are addressed:

• The "Save Contents of Session Folder" feature now operates correctly.
• Mezzo now correctly shows the number of missing files. In 3.8, Mezzo would sometimes tell the user that some files were missing even though all files were fully accounted for.
• Mezzo no longer adds to the missing file count when the user views the archive options.

• Changes in 3.8.1v2:

Unfortunately, the version of Mezzo 3.8.1 that was posted on 07-May was corrupted during upload causing some users to see a challenge/response screen when they tried to launch the update. This has been fixed, and the internet file name has been changed to 3.8.1v2 to avoid confusion. Otherwise, 3.8.1v2 is identical to 3.8.1. We're sorry if this has caused you any inconvenience.
