Archiving device compatibility – Mezzo v.4.7

CD / DVD-R
Please note that on the Macintosh platform, support for CD/DVD-R devices is available only on systems running OS v10.2 and above. Mezzo utilizes commands in the OSX operating system in order to control the CD/DVD-R device; therefore, it is Apple’s software that determines which hardware devices are supported. In general, if a Macintosh has a built-in CD or DVD burner that is supported by iTunes, iDVD, or DVD Studio Pro, then it will be supported by Mezzo. For a list of external devices supported by Apple, please visit www.apple.com/itunes/compatibility

Mirror Volumes (formerly called 'Servers')
Disk Mirroring can be assigned to any storage volume or partition that is mounted to the computer and is visible on the Desktop. Removable storage devices, such as Zip and DVD-RAM, fall into this category, as well. See "About Mirror volumes" in the Mezzo 4.5 documentation for more information.

Tape devices
Click on this link to see a list of the various formats of tape devices that are supported in v4.5, along with any special notes regarding their compatibility.

Please note that the
Mezzo Mirror configuration of Mezzo does not support tape devices for backup or restore transfers. Users of Mezzo Mirror can upgrade to the regular version of Mezzo at any time in order to add support for tape devices.
